Yacht Rental FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is included in the yacht charter base price?

The yacht charter base price includes:
– charter yacht for 4, 6, or 8 hours
– captain/crew
– fuel for local cruising at normal speed
– any docking fees (vary by pickup location)
– water, soda, and ice

Is tax and gratuity included in the yacht charter base price?

Tax and gratuity must be added to the yacht charter base price. Florida tax is 7% and gratuity is 15-20%. All of our yacht charter base prices do NOT include tax and gratuity.

How many people can I bring aboard a charter yacht?

The number of guests will depend on the type of charter and the yacht. Most of our yachts can accommodate a maximum of 13 passengers (including children) during a day charter, regardless of the size of the yacht. Smaller yachts may limit the maximum number of passengers to 12. Multi-day charter capacity depends on the sleeping accommodations of the particular yacht. The average charter yacht sleeps 8-10 guests. This regulation is mandated by Federal US Coast Guard. For large yacht charters, commercial vessel options can accommodate more than 13 guests.

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

We offer a limited catering menu and also offer the services of an onboard chef during a day charter at an additional cost. You may bring your own food and alcohol without any issue. For multi-day charters, we recommend the use of an onboard chef (additional cost). Food is an expense calculated in the APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) at the time of booking.

What route will the yacht take?

The yacht charter itinerary will depend on the length of the charter and boarding location. We recommend you talk to our friendly staff in regards to destination options at the time of booking. Pearl Yacht Charters will prepare a route to suit your needs.

What is an Advanced Provisioning Allowance?

Multi-day trips require an APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) of 30-40% of the base charter fee. This includes fuel, food, beverages, customs fees, dockage, etc., plus any expenses consumed by your group while on board. The APA is sent to the yacht before the charter in order to provision the yacht according to your preferences. The captain will provide a detailed accounting of the usage of the APA funds. Any leftover funds will be returned to you at the end of the charter. It is customary to pay a 15-20% gratuity to the crew at your discretion.

Can I customize my yacht charter with Additional Services?

Definitely! Pearl Yacht Charters offer you additional services such as yacht decorations, catering, DJ, onboard chef, masseuse, and more. Our friendly staff will help you customize an unforgettable yacht charter experience.

Is fishing allowed aboard our charter yachts?

Unfortunately our private luxury yachts are unable to accommodate fishing trips.
